In the event of an incident like the recent Mumbai or Kabul hotel attacks, this is how a US security team would have managed the situation where injuries may have occured:
- Interfaced and already have established a dialogue with local law enforcement (if not corrupt) and in-country U.S law enforcement.
- Run counter-surveillance prior and during the time of arrival at the hotel.
- ‘Advanced’ the entire hotel and surrounding areas including medical trauma centers and hospitals.
- Established a primary and secondary evacuation plan from the hotel.
- Staged vehicles at accessible locations.
- Arranged a priority response from a private ambulance / med-evac company.
- Secured an armored vehicle as necessary in high risk zones.
- Organized access to additional vetted security and/or an armed rapid response team.
- Applied immediate first aid via EMT trained Agents and standard Trauma, AED, Oxygen and First Aid kits.
- Have determined the fastest route to a pre-vetted trauma center with a contingency center as a backup.
- Relate any injuries or conditions of the client to the Medical Partner en route to the trauma center.
- Provide a continuous update of the client’s condition and minutes out from the trauma center.
- Apply initial first aid
- Transfer the confidential medical profile to the pre-vetted doctor.
- Liaise with the pre-vetted doctor prior to the arrival of the client and during the medical intervention.
- Expedited medical transfer and safe passage out of the country.
