Kent Moyer Best of Los Angeles Award 2018

Host: Hi, everyone, I’m Jeanette, saying hi, your host with the Best of Los Angeles Awards. And on today’s video features spotlight, we’re going to sit down with Kent Moyer, CEO and founder of the World Protection Group. Let’s find out more about security from the expert himself.

Kent Moyer: Well, I decided I wanted to create a high-end security company. And I started the World Protection Group 18 years ago and is evolved into servicing clients such as billionaires and celebrities and entertainment companies and corporations. And it’s more of a high-end niche type company so would be classified as a premium brand.

And then I went back to school, which I went to Wharton Business School, I went back, and I did a two week course Wharton Business School in the Bocconi Business School in Milan, Italy, and studying strategic management of luxury businesses and created entity of the company called 001, which is the only executive protection and luxury entity of a company that has never been done in the entire world. So, we’re the first.

Well, we do a security briefing every year. And a security briefing is where we have a lunch for clients, potential clients, you know, to build relationships in Los Angeles area. And it was at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Private Polo Lounge room. And we typically tried to get between 40 and 50 people, I think we had about 50 people there. And the goal is we want to let the public know what’s going on in the world today.

So, some of the topics that I covered was what’s going on in North Korea, you know, is there going to be an attack. Number two, I wanted to go over analysis of the mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas and then talk about how we need to be prepared with workplace violence and learn how to that everybody gets trained in what to do if there’s an act of shooting whether it be in your home your office, you know shopping mall in airport, what we do to survive that attack.

In addition, I got into very heavy which is very passion for me is how to create an anonymous lifestyle. And in a lifestyle where everything you put out on social media is easy to get the information. And people don’t realize many people on Facebook, user email and their phone number and you know real email, real phone number, and good investigator and intelligence person can get any information from their Facebook account or social media. So, we try to create more privacy and confidentiality with potential clients and get them to realize the need for looking at what they’re doing online.
