Case Study: Celebrity Privacy Protection
How the World Protection Group Helped Protect a High Profile Celebrity to Secure Her Personal Information From Being Found and Easily Accessible Online to Prevent Incidents
The Problem
A female celebrity came to WPG with a concern that a gentleman had been stalking her for some time. He was harassing her by calling directly on a personal phone line. She was concerned as to how he had found her number, and also wanted to get him to stop bothering her. The stalker had found all the information he needed easily on the internet, including her real address and phone number.
The Challenge
We had to remove her information from the internet and then go through the process of removing her information from known databases.
- The client had to understand that anytime she shops whether online or otherwise, she is releasing her private information to a database somewhere. Our job is to help her keep that information private.
- We want our clients to utilize our Privacy and confidentiality services in which we remove their information off the internet, and out of databases to give them an anonymous lifestyle at the level that they want.
- Secondly, we had to be sure this certain stalker would no longer harass our client, and that the situation would not repeat itself in the future. This may require changing of phone numbers, or adding security links on the phones to stop unwanted calls.
The Result
WPG was able to secure the client’s personal information in an encrypted site online, so that her information was not public, but available to only those she allowed. We have been able to update her information regularly, and are able to help her create a discreet profile that she can use when shopping online with a mailing address at a pickup location, rather than coming directly to her home. Our client has established a credit card that files funds through a monitored system that does not connect her personal information with that card except in an encrypted way.
Also, WPG has given this client a personal bodyguard to keep further threatening behavior from affecting this client in any way, whether through the phone, mail or direct bodily contact.
